Specimen Description
You can find plenty of mineral, geology or mining-themed postage stamps, but rarely do you come across similarly-themed medallions or coins.
I recently received two identical sets so am offering one for sale at just AU$25 plus postage.
Canadian Centennial anniversary 1867-1967 medallion set. Commemorative souvenir issue minted on behalf of the Ontario Mining Industry.
Two uncirculated medallions, one in brass, the other cupro-nickel. They each weigh 19.21g and measure 36.6mm in diameter.
The Obverse has a mining worker standing in front of a factory surrounded by legends. The Reverse has the Coat of Arms of Ontario with legends above and below.
Minted by the Royal Canadian Mint, Ottawa, Canada.
These two medallions come in a plastic blue velvetine-lined display case in a red cardboard presentation box (the box has some scuffing).
